the art of sinking.

toe the edge
and dive in
sink like a stone
let the water submerge you
swallow you
engulf you
look up at the surface
and the light coming through
forming perfect rays
beneath the waves
hold your self
forget your fear
forget the persistant nagging in your head
to reach the air
close but unatainable.
sit at the botttom
look at the sky
like looking at the world from the bottom of a well.
the only place to go is up
but let's stay down here for a while
relish in the aloneness
the solitude
the quiet
stare until black over takes your vision
and you
fall
down.
